Our clubhouse in Oquossoc serves as a hub for diverse activities throughout the year, from community gatherings and educational programs to specialized shooting facilities. Whether you’re interested in learning traditional outdoor skills, practicing at our shooting ranges, or simply connecting with like-minded enthusiasts at our seasonal events, we invite you to explore all that our historic association has to offer.
Membership provides access to exclusive benefits, but many of our events welcome the general public to experience the unique sporting heritage that defines our community.
Events
Monthly Membership Meetings: Potluck dinners are held every 3rd Thursday (May-December) at the Guides clubhouse on Old Ski Way Rd. in Oquossoc, from 5:30-7:00 PM. Open to the public, featuring informational presentations on sporting, wildlife, conservation, and other topics of interest.
Annual Membership Meeting: The organization’s official annual meeting where the election of club officers takes place, accompanied by an informal presentation and complimentary food and beverages.
July 3rd In the Park: A food service event held in conjunction with Rangeley’s Independence Day celebrations, offering burgers, hot dogs, and the famous Guides’ fries in the town park.
Strawberry Festival: A summer celebration at Oquossoc Village Town Park featuring fresh strawberry shortcake, crafts, food, and various activities for public enjoyment.
Hunters’ Breakfast: A special breakfast held on the opening day of the hunting season at the clubhouse, with free meals for children and complimentary gifts and prizes.

Programs
Junior Guides Summer Program: A signature educational program offered for six sessions across three consecutive Mondays and Tuesdays in July. Available in Basic and Advanced formats, this hands-on program covers Maine mammals, insect identification, fly tying and casting, archery, watercraft, sports, hiking, and more—pre-registration is required.
Hunter Safety Classes: Educational courses providing essential knowledge and certification for hunting activities. Interested participants should contact the organization to express interest and learn about upcoming sessions.
Tim Baker Trail: A nature trail located at the Guides’ Clubhouse opens annually in June and features a rotating storybook walk designed for children.
Kids’ Fishing Derby: An annual July event where children fish in age groups at the stocked Fishing Pond behind the Clubhouse. The organization provides equipment, bait, prizes, and food for participants.

Shooting Activities
Rifle and Pistol Range: Available from May 15 to October 31, located on the Morton Cutoff Rd. at the Old Fanjoy Pit. Members must sign a yearly release and obtain the gate code to access the facility.
Skeet & Trap Club: Operating from May 15 to October 31, the Rangeley Region Skeet and Trap Association range is located at the end of Old Skiway Rd. in Oquossoc. RRG&SA membership includes reciprocal membership with the RRS&TA.
Archery Range: Open from June 1 to October 31, located below the RRG&SA clubhouse lower parking lot. Contact information available for interested participants.
Turkey Shoot: An annual shooting competition held in October at the Rifle & Pistol Range, with registration beginning at 1:00 PM and shooting at 1:30 PM.
RRS&SA Annual Club Championship: A members-only tournament held in August with dinner following the contest. Registration is required in advance with specific start times.
