Monthly Potluck: Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust to Present Magalloway Conservation Update & More
September 13, 2026
Join the Rangeley Region Guides’ & Sportsmen’s Association for its monthly community potluck on Thursday, September 17, featuring a presentation by Shelby Rousseau, Director of Conservation for Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust.
Rousseau will share an update on the Magalloway conservation project, which closed on July 28. Her presentation will cover the partnership structure behind the project; conservation outcomes, including lands protected through fee ownership and conservation easements; fundraising goals and results; future management, public access, and traditional uses; and other current conservation initiatives in the region. She plans to use slides and/or large-format maps to guide the discussion.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. at the RRG&SA Clubhouse Campus, 41 Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc.
Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite dish or dessert to share—and to invite a friend or two.
RRG&SA monthly potluck gatherings are held on the third Thursday of each month and welcome community members interested in the region’s outdoor heritage, conservation, and recreation.
This program is the second in a series of informative presentations planned for the coming months. In the coming months there will be presentations from:
- High Peaks Alliance
- Seven Islands Land Company
- Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife
