Kids’ Fishing Derby
The Rangeley Region Guides & Sportsmen’s Association’s annual Kids’ Fishing Derby is a fun July tradition that gives young anglers the chance to spend a day fishing at the stocked pond behind the Clubhouse. The event includes equipment, bait, prizes, and food for participants, making it a welcoming day for kids and families.
Event Details
All children ages 15 and under are welcome, and all skill levels are encouraged to join. Younger children may receive assistance from an adult, while older youth are invited to show off their independent fishing skills. The event is free for all kids.

- Location: RRGSA Clubhouse Campus Trout Pond, 41 Old Skiway Rd, Oquossoc, ME 04964
- Registration: Starts at 8:00 AM
- Fishing Ends: 11:15 AM
- Prizes Awarded: 11:30 AM

What To Expect
Whether it’s a child’s first time fishing or they are already seasoned young anglers, every participant has a chance to win. Prizes will be awarded in multiple age categories for various catches, and families can enjoy hot dogs and drinks served on-site. A limited number of loaner rod setups are usually available on a first-come, first-served basis.
