Clay Shooting Season Returns to Rangeley Region

Clay Shooting Season Returns to Rangeley Region

Posted on May 31, 2025

Spring has arrived in the Rangeley region, and that means clay shooting season is back! Our partners at the Rangeley Region Skeet and Trap Association (RRS&TA) have announced their 2025 shooting schedule, and we’re excited to share the details with our RRGSA community.

Four Days of Shooting Each Week

Starting May 15 and running through October 31, the RRS&TA range at the end of Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc will be active four days a week:

Wednesday: Trap and Skeet starting at 4:00 PM
Thursday: Sporting Clays and Skeet starting at 4:00 PM
Saturday: Five Stand and Skeet starting at 10:00 AM
Sunday: Trap and Skeet starting at 1:00 PM

So, whether you’re interested in traditional trap and skeet or want to try the more dynamic sporting clays and five stand disciplines, there’s something for shooters of all experience levels.

Your RRGSA Membership Includes Shooting Benefits

One of the great benefits of being an RRGSA member is reciprocal membership with the RRS&TA. This partnership means you have access to clay shooting activities as part of your membership with us. It’s another way we work together to provide diverse outdoor recreation opportunities for our community.

Connect at Our Monthly Potlucks

Don’t forget about our monthly potluck dinners every third Thursday at the Guides’ clubhouse on Old Ski Way Road. These gatherings from 5:30-7:00 PM are open to everyone. They feature presentations on sporting, wildlife, conservation, and other outdoor topics.

These potlucks are a great way to meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, whether you’re interested in clay shooting, fishing, hunting, or other outdoor pursuits.

Getting Started

New to clay shooting? The range welcomes shooters of all skill levels, and our partnership with the RRS&TA means RRGSA members can get involved easily. The variety of shooting disciplines offered throughout the week gives you plenty of opportunities to try different styles and find what you enjoy most.
