Join Us & District Forester, Julie Davenport, for the August Meeting & Potluck!
Wednesday, August 13, 2025
The Rangeley Region Guides’ & Sportsmen’s Association welcomes everyone to our monthly meeting on August 21, 2025, at our clubhouse on Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc. Doors open at 5 PM, and we’re excited to offer a potluck supper social—so bring your favorite dish or dessert to share with friends and neighbors!
This month, we’ll be joined by Julie Davenport, District Forester with the Maine Forestry Department, as well as our local Forest Ranger. They’ll share insights into the Forestry Department’s role and services and discuss critical issues facing Maine’s forests today. Topics include the impact of invasive species, outbreaks of harmful insects and diseases, and the worsening threat of forest fires due to the current dry conditions. Learn what you can do as a community member to help prevent fires and protect our beautiful woods.
Whether you’re a longtime member or new to the area, this event is a great opportunity to connect with others who care deeply about conservation, forestry, and the rich outdoor heritage of the Rangeley region.
Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of good food, great company, and valuable information about Maine’s forests.
We hope to see you there!
