Monday, September 29, 2025

Please respect our ranges and all who use them. Our upgrades are for you, to improve your safety and the safety of others.

Our ranges are designed for lane shooting.
Target distances are set at 5 yds., 15 yds., and 25 yds.
Pick a color and stay in your lane.

Basic Rules – Pistol / Revolver Range

  • Pistols and revolvers only. No fully automatic or burst-fire weapons.
  • No rifles or shotguns allowed on this range.
  • Muzzle control: Always keep your firearm pointed downrange. When not firing, the action must be open, chamber clear, magazine removed, or cylinder open. Chamber flags are required during sponsored events.
  • Hands off firearms when the range is cold. Step away from shooting benches when the green flag is posted.
  • Eye and ear protection required.
  • Shooters and instructors only inside the covered shooting platform. No bystanders allowed—must remain outside.
  • Only one entry point into the shooting platform and range.
  • Flags:
    • Red = range is hot and closed.
    • Green = range is cold and safe to go downrange.
  • No targets other than those provided. No cans, bottles, trash, explosives, or bouncing targets.
  • No alcohol or drugs allowed on the premises.
  • Keep the range clean. Dispose of trash properly.
  • Pick up your brass and use designated containers.
  • Report any unsafe or disorderly behavior.
  • In case of a weapon malfunction, leave the shooting platform. Do not attempt repairs there. A malfunction workstation will be added next season.

Range Development

RRG&SA has completed Phase 1 of the range project. Phase 2, planned for 2026, will include:

  • Additional signage and new kiosks
  • Cleaning the berms
  • Clearing back the tree line
  • Establishing a malfunction workstation
  • Installing gear tables
  • Several weapons and skills training programs

We welcome your comments and input for further improvements and programs.

Range Hours and Use

  • Open May 1 – December 1
  • Shooting hours: 7:00 am to 1 hour before sunset

Membership and Liability

  • The range is for members and their invited guests only.
  • Guests must be accompanied by a member.
  • Each person in your party must sign a yearly liability waiver. Forms available at River’s Edge Sports in Oquossoc.

Gate Policy

  • Gate combination is for members only. Do not share with guests.
  • Combination is changed yearly.
  • After entering, close the gate behind you. Place the master lock in the pin but do not lock—it must remain accessible for emergency personnel.
  • If you are the only or last person leaving, secure and lock the gate.

Thank you for your membership and support. Always practice safely, be aware of your surroundings, and know your target.

Enjoy your time at the range, and help us build a strong community of responsible shooters.
